Strickler wrote many wonderful vignettes about his parents,
and a few about himself growing up. These descriptions of my
grandparents and father revealed a good deal to me about why
I am who I am and where I get certain traits! One of the most
delightful days I ever spent was with my parents in their later
years, sitting in our yard on a sunny October day, reading aloud
