SAN JOSE, California, June 5, 2000 VocalPoint provides this new technology using regular voice commands and audio response, and the browser can be used to navigate, browse, read, and respond to HTML and XML based Web pages. @bovehealth will package VocalPoint's telephone browser into its suite of products and services targeting the health plan industry, which features more than 500 plans nationwide. These plans serve millions of members who don't now have access to the Internet. "VocalPoint clearly is one the most advanced companies in this field," said John Baerthlein, vice president for sales and marketing at @bovehealth. "We believe that voice-enabled Web browsing has tremendous potential, and VocalPoint technology will bring substantial value to our menu of products and services in the health plan industry." Baerthlein said VocalPoint's telephone browser is much simpler to use, saving not only time and headaches but also money for health plan carriers and related players in this field. He said the telephone browser replaces "those clunky Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems that are difficult to set up, difficult to use and difficult to maintain and keep updated with new information." Baerthlein also said it extends the reach of plan services to those who don't have access to PCs at home or work. Meanwhile, Baerthlein also announced two other deals at the AAHP 2000 Managed Care Institute and Display Forum. He said @bovehealth has signed agreements with: Madison, CT-based Printing for Systems, Inc, (www.printingforsystems.com), which specializes in managing and producing membership ID cards for the healthcare industry. Under the agreement Printing for Systems will provide the Web-based capability to re-issue lost membership cards by members in a health plan. Misplaced cards are one of the biggest headaches faced by health care plans, said Baerthlein. Holland, MI-based FlexTech, Inc., (www.flextech1.com), a leader in the IT/ managed health care consulting field. FlexTech will provide managed care systems consulting and support to @bovehealth's Web-based system development, enhancing the application used by health care plans to automate and speed such areas as claims processing.
